BUILDING YOUR FAITH FROM THE WORD OF GOD
This year we will be focusing on the concept of Faith, family and finances. Our ministry will emerge from these disciplines. I believe that we are being led by the Spirit to move in this direction because this is the way the Spirit has been teaching this church. Paul instructed the church at Corinth to be guided by what the Holy Ghost is teaching and not the wisdom of man's teaching (1Cor. 2:13,14). So now we move to that REALITY and begin to establish our belief system on that which is eternal. The word eternal (adj) means without beginning or end: timeless.
BIBLE INSTITUE
The Marion Williams Bible Institute began in 1996 with the idea of equipping men and women for the ministry of Jesus Christ.
Our major emphasis has been dedicated to training men and women through the Aenon Bible College with ministerial and ordination courses. We are continuing this partnership with Aenon Bible College in order to equip individuals in the Apostolic ministry so that they can become ordained ministers of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.
The institute's desire to prepare men and women in Christian education has allowed us also to seek out other opportunities where men and women could receive AA's, BA's and MA's in various ministries.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
WE BELIEVE
THE BIBLE
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, giving a true history of the creation of the heavens and the earth, and of mankind. Its major theme is the redemption of mankind from sin and that the Lord will return to judge the world in the righteousness.
GOD
There is only One God: the Creator of the heavens and the earth and of all mankind as Father (Creator), SON (Savior), and Holy Ghost (Indwelling Spirit). [Col. 1:16-29; 1John 5:4-21]
SALVATION
Salvation is an act of God and can only be received through faith in God (Eph. 2: 8; Mk. I6: 16; Acts10: 43; 15:9; 26:18; Rom. 10: 11;Gal. 3: 2). The response to one's faith in seen in Acts 2:36-42.
DIVINE HEALING
The Lord made our bodies. Therefore we believe he is also able to heal us of any infirmity we may encounter in our natural bodies (Gen. 1: 26,27; 2:7; Mt. 4: 23,24).
TRANSLATION OF THE SAINTS
We believe that the Lord will come again and the dead will be raised from the graves, and we which are alive will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and will be with Him forever (1 Thess. 4: 13-17, 1Cor. 15:51-54; Phil. 3: 20,21; John 14:1,2).
FINAL JUDGEMENT
We believe that there will be a resurrection of the dead and all will be summoned to appear before the Great White Throne for their final Judgement. All those whose names are not found written in the Book of Life shall be cast in the Lake of Fire, burning with brimstone, which God has prepared for the devil and his angels. Satan is cast in first. (Rev. 20: 7-15; 21:8; Mt. 24:41-46).
NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH
We believe that there will be a new heaven and a new earth. There will be no more team, death, sorrow, crying or pain: for the former things are passed away (Rev. 21: 1-22:1-5). We shall also reign with the Lord throughout eternity (Rev. 22: 5)
HISTORY
The late Evangelist Marion Williams began this work in 1958. She made her transition into glory on June 18, 1984. After her homegoing, the church was entrusted into the hands of Elder Freddy L. Hill, Jr. Elder Hill is now a District Elder in the Illinois District Council as well as its chairman (2000-2003).
As the pastor of the Dixmoor Apostolic House of Prayer, Pastor Hill has been instrumental in providing the church with a vision that has a three-phase emphasis. This is the diagram that has been shared by Pastor Hill to the church.
In the first phase of the diagram the church has a focus on Evangelism. The church has purchased approximately thirty lots and has a house that is being rented to a Christian family.
Phase II is the acronym H.E.R.E. Which stands for Housing, Economics, Recreation, and Education. We now have a Bible Institute and are planning to offer AA, and BA degrees in religious education. Phase III will be for employing the members in the church and community, in viable jobs that will enhance their quality of life as well as give them a sense of pride and dignity in their community.
In 1986, construction began on an annex to the existing church. It was built with a small membership. It was completed in 1992. It was named in memory of the late pastor: "THE MARION WILLIAMS EDUCATIONAL CENTER". This center is now being used for the Sunday School, Bible Institute, and many other educational functions. We are looking to expand our uses of this facility to the community in areas of evening school, community meeting and programs, computer training, leadership training, and for equipping the people of God in their ministry of kingdom building.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF
THE DIXMOOR APOSTOLIC
HOUSE OF PRAYER
In Philippians 1: 27 the Bible reads "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in One spirit, with One mind striving TOGETHER for the faith of the gospel."
I would like to place special emphasis on three things in this verse of scripture:
· One Spirit
· One Mind
· Striving Together
These three ingredients are extremely necessary if we are to be affective as Disciples of Christ. We must have the same spirit, the same mind, and strive together toward the same purpose.
There must be a collective effort to fight and nullify the forces of evil wherever they may be. Together we can. Christ prayed that we might become one. We are achieving that goal here at Dixmoor House of Prayer; but there is still much to be done. It will take everyone working together in order for that to be achieved.
I sincerely believe that God is with me and has chosen me to continue the work that Pastor Marion Williams had started. It is my deepest desire to fulfill this mission under the leading of the Holy Ghost.
The Lord has given me a vision so that this congregation will go forward, be productive and reach higher heights in the knowledge of the Lord. There are a few objectives I wish to share with you concerning the vision of this church. It is my aim and thrust in the Holy Ghost to:
1. To provide an environment for Christian growth.
2. To direct and enhance the ability of men and women in the church.
3. To encourage fellowship among church members.
4. Provide all forms of counseling.
5. To teach sound moral and religious principles.
6. To provide various programs for saints needs.
7. To preach the Word.
8. Make visitation (sick, shut-in, the lost).
9. To witness for Christ and to train men/women to do the same.
10. To provide an adequate facility for early childhood Christian education.
11. To provide facilities for recreational needs.
12. To provide education in financial responsibility.
13. To provide a nursery center for the growing population in the church.
14. To help the elderly, widow and fatherless
15. To provide housing for the saints and community.
16. To provide for the total person.
These objectives are short, immediate and long range goals but they are attainable goals. What will it take to achieve these goals?
* ONE SPIRIT
* ONE MIND
* STRIVING TOGETHER
RECREATION
WE believe that the social instinct is God given and with the proper guidance from the pastor and the athletic directors that recreation will strengthen rather than injure the spiritual life of the believer. However, we admonish all members to make their recreational activities those that will enhance the spiritual life and set wise examples for others to follow. Any recreational activity that dulls or diminishes the spiritual life of the believer should be avoided at all cost.
CONFESSION AND RESTORATION
The need for confession and restoration is extremely necessary because it is the means by which one can be healed. According to the scriptures, confession is to be done to God and to one another.
In Psalms 3&5. the scriptures read "I acknowledge my sin unto thee (God), and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah"
In James 5:16 the scriptures read "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of righteous man availeth much.
These are scriptures that show that there is a need for the believer to have the proper attitude toward confession. I believe it is the pastor's role to reveal the will of God concerning this matter, and to assist in the guidance of anyone desiring restoration and fellowship with God and the church.
MEMBERSHIP
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1. Anyone is eligible to be a member of this Assembly who has accepted the Apostolic doctrine as set forth in the WORD OF GOD; Repentance, Water Baptism in Jesus Name, Infilling of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38); believing in Jesus Christ as God manifest in the flesh (I Tim. 3:16), and manifesting a consistent Christian life as described in the word of God.
2. Associate Membership is open to those who are attending the church but have not made a commitment to join nor have they received The Holy Ghost. However, the individual must have been baptized and must be earnestly seeking the Holy Ghost. An associate member has all the rights and privileges of a full member except the right to hold a prominent position in the church.
OBLIGATIONS AS NEW MEMBERS
Each member and associate member must accept the following obligations as a member of this assembly.
1. To respect and obey the leadership of the Pastor as related to the word of God (Heb. 13:17)
2. To support the church and the Pastor with one's prayers and finances according to the biblical system of tithes and offering. (Mai. 3:10; 1Cor. 16:2)
3. To conduct oneself as a Christian at all times and everywhere.
4. To attend and be active in the church services whenever divine providence permits. (Heb. 10:25) 5. To maintain secret devotion unto the Lord whenever Possible.
6. To attend Sunday school and Bible Class as much as possible because the Word of God is your only weapon against the Devil.
7. To be a witness for the Lord after you have received the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:8)
8. When moving to another church of like faith, a letter from the Pastor should be secured or whatever arrangements from the other Pastor he/she deems necessary.
9. Each member must respect the sanctuary and the articles and items within the sanctuary.
10. Each member is to respect the ushers and leadership staff of the church (deacons, ministers, auxiliary leaders, etc.)
11. In light of the numerous adversities that are plaguing our society, it is necessary for the new members to attend prayer meeting as much as possible and to set aside prayer time at home or wherever possible.
12. To help keep the church a clean place in which to worship and to assist in keeping the outside of the church presentable by not littering or writing on the walls or building.
13. No running in the church or in the building.
SAINTLY DRESS AND ADORNMENT
God has the church as his distinct people, his heavenly body, by the glorious and precious sacrifice of Himself. His desire for the church is that it be holy; a temperate, moderate people, bearing the image of the heavenly (1Peter 2:5, 1 Timothy 2:9, I Corinthians 15:49).
Therefore, we believe that the dress and adornments of the believer should be temperate, in all modesty and not extreme. If there is an extreme expression of adornment by any member, the pastor will exercise the right to admonish or explain the meaning of modesty and holiness. Our garments and adornments should reflect the modesty of today's standards.
Because of today's fashion statements, it is necessary to remind both male and female of the concept of modesty in dress and adornments.

FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT
Become a person after God's own heart by translating your joys and sorrows through the Psalms. By reading five Psalms a day, you will not only complete the book of Psalms each month, but you will also be encouraged by how precise these Psalms axe to your experience.
Learn the wisdom of God by reading, each day, the chapter of Proverbs, which corresponds to the day of the month. Relate the Proverbs to the decisions and situations you face.

More on Church Auxiliary Purpose
The purpose of the auxiliaries of the church is to assist the pastor and to allow the members to participate in the work of the ministry of the church. Every member should Joe in some committee or auxiliary of the church because the Lord has given to every person some special gift to help build up the body of the church. It is the most important ministry of the church because we are all working together for the betterment of the church and the edifying of the body of Christ.
I encourage all members of the church to pray and ask the Lord what special gift he has given you. These gifts are used in harmony with the other gifts the Lord has placed in the church. Auxiliaries and committees are useful ways your gifts can be expressed in the church.
This church has begun to expand the types of ministries that are emerging in the assembly. As we make the adjustment to accommodate these new gifts, changes in the way we have service starts to change. For instance, there has been the emergence of the praise singers and praise dancers. These new ministries have brought more involvement of the membership and a new way of worship and praise for the congregation.
So we encourage the membership to let your gifts be known. They are a blessing to the church. These are some of the auxiliaries, committees and departments that are currently functioning at this church.

Psalms 149:1-6
Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people:
he will beautify the meek with salvation.
Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
